Personality is calculated at the moment of birth, based on your birth date, time and place. Design is calculated at 88 degrees of the Sun prior to the natal (birth) or Personality calculation.
The Human Design Chart is based on two calculations, a birth calculation along with a pre-natal calculation. Accurate time of birth is essential and establishes the database of the Personality. From the exact time of birth a retrograde calculation is made. The exact time is based on the length of time it takes the Sun to move eighty-eight degrees of arc. This point is the basis of the calculation that establishes the database of the Design.
