PARTNERSHIP COMPOSITE

The integration of two designs; the foundation for relationship is established where definition exists in the composite. There are four kinds of defining connections.

Companionship — Both partners have the same channel or gate defined in their BodyGraph. This is the potential for friendship, the shared experience.

Compromise — One partner defines the whole channel and the other defines only a single gate in the channel. The partner that only has one gate of the channel activated is always compromised by the partner with the complete channel.

Dominance — One partner defines the entire channel while the other does not activate (define) either of the channel's gates. The defined channel can only be accepted and surrendered to as a way to experience the energy of the other.

Electro-Magnetic — Partners each define one gate (one half) of a channel, thereby defining the entire channel and creating life force energy; represents the basic dynamic of a relationship, attraction and repulsion.

The integration of one or more designs with each other. Through this integration the basic relationship is revealed. Where definition exists in the composite a foundation for the relationship is established. In composites there are four kinds of Defining connections.

1. Companionship: When both partners open the same channel or gate. This is the potential for friendship, the shared experience.

2. Compromise: One partner defines the whole channel and the other opens only a single gate. The partner that only activates one gate of the channel always compromises to the complete channel.

3. Dominance: One partner defines the channel while the other does not activate any of the channel's gates. The defined channel can only be accepted and surrendered to.

4. Electro-Magnetic: Within the same channel, the partners open the opposite gates, defining the channel. This definition represents the basic dynamic of a relationship, attraction and repulsion.

In Human Design Analysis, the combination of each Partners activations in a single BodyGraph. Partnership Analysis is concentrated on Center formulas and Channel formulas. When two beings are visible in one chart the number of defined Centers is significant. Channel formulas are based on the four ways that we meet in the BodyGraph:

Companionship — When both partners have a Channel defined in common in their respective Designs. Since we are attracted to what we are not, Companionship is relatively uncommon. It brings familiarity and security to a relationship.

Compromise — When one partner has a Channel defined and the other has only one aspect/Gate activated in the same Channel. Compromise is the most difficult aspect in relationships. As mechanics, it cannot be changed. One either accepts being 'controlled' in terms of that Channel or there will be conflict.

Dominance — When one partner has a Channel defined and the other partner has no Activations in the Channel at all. Dominance is a powerful unchangeable conditioning force in a relationship, where acceptance brings wisdom and resistance brings irresolvable conflict. Dominance is rarely the cause of serious problems in a relationship, though often annoying, it teaches both acceptance and appreciation of the difference of the other.

Electro-magnetic — When a Channel is defined by the partners each having an Activation at either end of the Channel. Electro-Magnetism is very dynamic and is experienced as love and hate, attraction and repulsion. Electro-magnetism despite its dynamic is an exciting component of relationship mechanics. Genetically we are designed to be attracted to what we are not. In electro-magnetism, the power of this imperative is obvious.
