Mystical synthesis given to Ra Uru Hu by the Voice; trademark of The Human Design System. Its formula is comprised of four older systems: Astrology, which frames the BodyGraph's calculation; the I'Ching, which integrates our genetics into the BodyGraph through the Gates; the Hindu Chakra system, which correlates to the energy hubs of the Centers; and the Kabbalah and its Tree of Life that corresponds to the circuitry and channels that create life force definition in our designs.

The wheel derived from eastern and western Astrology forms the framework of the calculation, the Hexagram of Chinese tradition is the integrator through its genetic parallel and acts as the agent of transference of imprinting to the body. The Channels are rooted in Kabala and are quantum forces. The Gates when they interact within the channel become something else, the whole that is greater than the sum of its parts and finally, the Centers are derived from the Hindu-Brahmin Chakra system.
Like the Sphinx with its many identifiable attributes, it cannot be defined as a whole by any of them. A sphinx is a sphinx. Human Design is a true synthesis that as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
