In the mechanics of the Maia, Enlightenment is an extreme state of the not-self. Maia is built on this and that. Enlightenment and Endarkenment are points at either end of the not-self behavioral spectrum. The enlightened one is blessed for remembering and the endarkened one is cursed for not forgetting. This is the essence of Maia. In the awakened state memory is not a choice.
